Cheryl Alderson, O.D. is originally from Toronto, Canada. She received her doctorate from the prestigious University of California Berkeley School of Optometry. She was the recipient of numerous awards including the UC Berkeley International Scholarship, the Alcon Award for Clinical Excellence, and the VSP Scholarship Award for top patient management. She provides eye examinations to all ages and her passion is children’s eye examinations. She is an InfantSEE provider who provides free screenings for babies between the ages of 6-12 months old. Dr. Alderson is fluent in French and speaks conversational Spanish.

Charles Dominguez, O.D., F.A.A.O. received his doctorate from the University of California Berkeley School of Optometry. He went on to complete his fellowship in Cornea Contact Lens at the world renowned UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute. Dr. Dominguez specializes in complex contact lens fittings for patients with corneal diseases such as keratoconus and irregular astigmatism, and was one of the first optometrists certified to treat glaucoma in the State of California. He has received numerous prestigious awards, including the RGPLI award for excellence in contact lens fitting. He is also a lecturer and consultant on dry eye syndrome with leading companies such as Allergan and Bausch & Lomb. Dr. Dominguez is fluent in Spanish. Most importantly, Dr. Dominguez believes that vision is a right, not a privilege.

Han Tran, O.D. earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Sciences from the University of California, Irvine before graduating Cum Laude from the Southern California College of Optometry. She completed clinical rotations at VA Bakersfield, University Eye Center Los Angeles, Ketchum Health, and Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital, where she gained experience in primary eye care, contact lenses, and the treatment of eye disease. Dr. Tran has wanted to become an optometrist since she was 11 years old and enjoys caring for patients of all ages. She believes in making every visit comfortable, thorough, and personalized. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends, trying new restaurants, traveling, staying active, and playing with her two tuxedo cats.

Van Tran, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. Before practicing in the United States, she completed an ophthalmology residency and worked as a pediatric ophthalmologist in Vietnam. Dr. Tran has many years of experience providing comprehensive eye care, fitting contact lenses, and treating eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye disease, and diabetic eye disease. She enjoys caring for patients of all ages and takes the time to understand each patient's individual needs. Dr. Tran is fluent in English and Vietnamese and enjoys building long-term relationships with the families she cares for.

Alejandra (Office Manager)

Alejandra is our friendly office manager. Some of her favorite things about working in our office include being able to help patients see and working with her staff.

Outside the office, you can find Alejandra spending time with her 3 kids, going to the movies, taking trips to Vegas and doing makeup as a makeup artist.

Sandra (Optician)

Sandra is one of our kind and dedicated opticians. She enjoys collaborating with our doctors to help patients achieve their best possible vision and helping them find eyewear that not only meets their vision needs but also reflects their unique style.

When she’s not in our office, Sandra enjoys spending quality time with her daughter and son. She also loves dancing, singing, and hosting fun drawing contests at home with her family.

Maribel (Optician)

Maribel is one of our friendly opticians. She enjoys helping patients find their perfect pair of frames, selecting comfortable and fashionable eyewear, and seeing them achieve their best vision with glasses or contact lenses.

When she’s not in our office, Maribel enjoys spending time with her family, camping, and taking road trips.

Karen (Optician)

Karen is one of our caring opticians. She loves helping patients see clearly and feel confident by building lasting relationships and finding the right eyewear to fit their vision needs and lifestyle.

When she’s not in our office, Karen enjoys spending quality time with her daughter and family. They are her greatest source of happiness, and she loves making lasting memories together.

Kassidy (Technician)

Kassidy is one of our dedicated technicians. She enjoys working alongside our doctors, learning more about optometry, and interacting with patients each day. Originally from Maui, Hawaii, she graduated from the University of California, Irvine and plans to attend optometry school in the future.

When she’s not in our office, Kassidy enjoys dancing, listening to music, drinking matcha, and spending time at the beach.

Guadalupe (Technician)

Guadalupe is one of our compassionate technicians. She is passionate about helping patients see and feel their best by providing exceptional care and creating a welcoming experience for everyone who visits our office.

When she’s not in our office, Guadalupe enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children. She also loves baking, crafting, and making lasting memories with her family.

Melissa (Receptionist)

Melissa is one of our friendly faces behind the front desk at Modern Eyewear Optometry. She most enjoys interacting with patients, working in a friendly environment and the fact that the doctors really care about their patients.

When she’s not at the office, Melissa enjoys singing, reading and listening to music, especially KPOP.
